JBL Heavy Duty 10amp Digital timer with a 30amp relay inside. Manufactured by JBL Lighting, manufacturer of Industrial and Hydroponic Lighting Systems. Has a 30amp contractor/relay inside to ensure that even heavy 2400Watts loads can operate without timer failure. This is a standard 240 Volt Australian plug in timer rated at normal Australian household power of 10amps. (Note maximum available power on Australian 10amp supplies is 2400Watts, so you cannot get more power than that). Has been used with 2 x 1000W HID grow lights, and 3 x 600Watt HID grow lights. The inductive load of a HID light means that the power is drawn out and produces a large spark during start. Continual use of ordinary 10amp timers causes the relay to lightly weld together. By tapping them lightly on a bench you can often reset the 10amp timers. With this heavy duty timer, the use of a 30amp contractor/relay means that the relay was designed for much heavier starting loads than a 10amp timer would. We have had no problems with this timer with heavy multi-lighting loads. Ready to plug in.
