The urban gardener is going organic
Fellow gardeners, My name is Guy and I am the owner of the urban gardener shop. I have been a gardener for over 10 years now and if I were asked to summarize those years I would say “working with plants is an amazing yet frustrating thing because if we are to get optimal results we need to feed our plants with chemicals.” This fact has been troubling me from the moment I understood how plants sustain their life. This month we have completed a long term experiment with the leading hydroponic nutrients and several organic formulas in our garden. The aim of this experiment was to find a range of organic nutrients and additives that will show the same results we have been seeing from the synthetic nutrients. To our surprise some organic formulas have provided far better results from the synthetic formulas. With the help of stefanski organic fertilizers we have built a range of fully organic plant nutrients free of salts and nitrates. This range is suitable for both soil and hydroponics gardening and all stages of plant growth. From fertilizers for seeds, through to 2 part leaf and herb fertilizer and 2 part fruit and flower nutrient. All you need to "grow organic" can be found in our Organic Gardening section. This new designed range now allows us to garden with nature and since we now have an organic alternative for our plants we have decided to limit our hydroponic nutrient range to organic hydroponic nutrients. Since we understand that changing gardening practices is not always easy, we will still be offering the House & Garden nutrient range and the 1 part GreenDream Range.
